How its Made

Every wondered how I make my chains ?

Using sterling silver wire, links are created by winding the wire around a former then cut individually, ready to be soldered together to form a link.

Creating links

Creating links of different sizes gives interest to the chain, so the process can be used several times using different formers.

Additional links of different sizes

Each link needs to be soldered individually to give the chain strength. Once this process is complete, the chain needs to be pickled, the joints need to be checked and cleaned, then the piece needs to be polished and have its clasp attached, only then it is ready to be sent off to be Assayed and have the relevant Hallmarks applied.
